Are your pieces made to order?
Most C. Disston designs are made to order and take about 4 to 6 weeks, plus shipping. A small number of finished pieces are in stock and ready to ship; you'll find them in Ready to Ship.
What does “one of a kind” mean?
A one-of-a-kind piece is made only once, usually around a diamond or colored stone chosen just for it. When it sells, it's gone. If you love a design that has sold, a bespoke commission can capture its spirit with a different stone.
Where is my jewelry made?
Every piece is designed by C. Disston and hand crafted in the US.
Do you have a store I can visit?
Not yet. There is no retail storefront right now, but one is planned for the future. In the meantime, consultations can take place by video call, phone or email, wherever you are, and in person for clients in the San Francisco Bay Area. Book a consultation.
Do you offer wholesale?
No. I sell directly to clients only.
Diamonds and stones
Are your diamonds lab-grown?
My made-to-order ring designs are set with custom-cut antique lab-grown diamonds by default. I also work with natural diamonds and natural colored stones for bespoke commissions and one-of-a-kind designs.
What is an antique cut?
Before modern cutting machines, diamonds were cut by hand to glow by candlelight. Old mine, old European, antique pear and antique oval cuts have a small table, a high crown and broad, chunky facets, so they shimmer softly rather than throwing off a modern brilliant flash. Are your diamonds certified?
Certification is noted on each listing. If you'd like details on a particular stone, just ask.
What metals do you use?
Most pieces are in gold or platinum. Bespoke pieces can be made in 14K, 18K, or platinum.
Sizing
What ring sizes are available?
Rings can be made in any size. US sizes 4 to 10, including half sizes, are offered as standard options on each listing; for any other size, just ask. Not sure of your size? See the ring size guide.
Do you offer resizing?
Yes. C. Disston one-of-a-kind rings and estate rings over $1,500 can be resized up to two sizes up or down, complimentary. For made-to-order and bespoke pieces, the first resizing is complimentary on any order over $1,000.

Do you take bespoke commissions?
Yes. Bespoke pieces start at $2,000 and begin with a complimentary consultation by video call, phone or email, or in person for clients in the San Francisco Bay Area. See how bespoke commissions work.
Shipping, returns and care
Do you offer free shipping?
US orders of $500 or more ship free via UPS or USPS. Expedited options are available at checkout.
Is my order insured?
Yes. Every order ships fully insured, with a signature required on delivery.
Can I request a rush order?
If you need a piece by a certain date, email me before ordering and I'll let you know what's possible.
Do you ship internationally?
Yes, worldwide via DHL and FedEx, with rates calculated at checkout.
What is your return policy?
Made-to-order catalog pieces shipped within the US can be returned within 30 days of delivery, unworn and in their original packaging. Bespoke pieces and international orders are final sale, except orders shipped to the EU, which can be returned within 14 days. See the full refund policy.
Do you offer a warranty?

What payment methods do you accept?
